Qualifications

Qualifications? Well, my PB deadlift is 5 plates a side, 225kg, done in Washington at Bally Total Fitness in Nov 05, the day the Redskins beat the Eagles 17-10 and Terrell Owens got suspended for dissing the organisation and his team mates.

I squatted 4 plates a side to step, 185kg, for one rep, at the Windsor Castle Gym under the railway track. Saw stars for a while after that.

And I rowed a 6.28 2K on the ergo at th 2003 Grand Prix at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. No training, no prep, but I had a really gobby rower in my club a few days before braggin about how fit he was, so I made a bet with him that I could break 6.30 any day he liked. So I did. Passed out and threw up, but I did it. And I am more proud of my 5k time, 17.11. I urge you to try it.

The amazing Angie Semsch, handstand push ups forever!!!

Before you read the long list below, let me tell you this. Of all the courses I have done, I can only say I have any pride or use from a handful of them. The standard of courses in the fitness industry today is a joke, an absolute joke, and just another way for the government to get money from people like me.

We are forced to renew qualifications every few years, not a problem. But, when the person taking the course doesnt have clue, then what you end up with is a huge pool of people with paper qualifications and no idea about what they are actually supposed to be doing.

How have I learnt what I know today? Because I have seeked out the top people in each field, spent time with them, listened, learned and listened some more. Roger Semsch, husband of Angie Semch (above) has given me so mmuch information of worth, Mike Francois has been a real inspiration and helped simplify the world of pumping iron. Richard Bandler and his amazing NLP techniques has an impact on me when I listened to him, and I use them all the time, sometimes without even knowing it. Steven Covey, Anthony Robbins, they are great teachers of how to run a life.

I must have read every book, every magazine, every website I could, to make sure no stone is left unturned.
