Helen Collins

UKBFF Fitness Champion 2007, 10th Place European Championships 2008

I never dreamt I could work so hard, and achieve so much. I didn’t start with any special talent; I just learnt how to work hard and to gain great pleasure in doing so. Much of what Simon taught me was mental, not physical, and how to use the power of the mind to achieve what you really wanted. MY training was so brutal, the flexibility work required, the dieting, the cardio, but I knew it was just part of my journey in making myself the best I could be. Apart from the success I achieved in Fitness Competition, more importantly I learnt about me, who I really was, what I could really achieve when I put my mind to it. Simon is the best coach out there, for a number of reasons, but there is one thing he does that I think no other coach is even aware of. He is constantly looking at the bigger picture, and the balancing of all the roles in your life, not just what you are doing in the gym. “Winning” isn’t always placing first, it is the journey and the things you do and people you touch along the way.

Helen maybe an outstanding athlete, but that means very little to me. She is a great all round person, a giver who takes great care of her close friends and family and who lives her life the right way. Nothing but admiration and respect for her.
